Taking payments can be managed by using a dedicated self-service kiosk. This payment kiosk has been designed to execute transactions in a location, manner or volume that would make live staffing unfeasible, like during busy hours in a shop, the concourse of an airport or in a shopping mall.
A typical configuration for a payment kiosk consists of:
- X6 kiosk.
- 19" LCD with a Touch screen Overlay
- Thermal receipt printer
- Payments: debit/credit card reader, debit cards or cash acceptors (bill and/or coins).
- A keyboard and trackball is optional, but only really recommended when it is necessary to collect customer details (like an email address). Inputting vast amounts of data, for instance, names and street addresses, using a touchscreen is not as effective as most people are used to keyboards for data entry.
- A secondary overhead monitor can be useful for displaying advertisements or marketing / information messages.
These kiosks can also be used as a self-service checkout for your employees and contractors at the canteen and commissary saving the company money, time and frustration and ensuring more effective use of the employee's lunch hour.
